How can Submit films to Post Video Art?
Upload your film, preferly 15 min. or less, please encode as a Quicktime movie file ( Codec Sorenson Video) at 100 kbytes/sec date rate and 240x180 resolution and audio setting as 44.1Khz, 16bit, stereo and QDesign Music 2 compression. Click here for how to. Fill the submission form at bottom of this page, then upload your movie file on next page.
Who can submit films to Post Video Art?
To show your film on our site, you must own or hold the rights to the film and have all the rights and clearances (music, etc.).
Will this submission cost me anything?
No, submission to Post Video Art is free, although submission does not guarantee that we will exhibit your film.
How long does it take to get my film up once Post Video Art gets the file?
On average, it takes one to two weeks to launch your film after we receive it. We'll send you an email with your film's premiere date as soon as we have everything ready to go.
Would Post Video Art pay for my film(s)?
No, Post Video Art offers an outlet where artists can develop an audience, as well as connect with others in the Video Art/Experimental filmmaking community.
What rights do I need to have cleared before I submit my film to Post Video Art?
- Non-student films
You must have all the rights cleared, including music, before you can legally submit a film to Post-VideoArt.
- Student films
If your film is a student production, You-not your school-must own all rights and clearances before submitting. If your school owns rights to the project, they must authorize its submission to Post-VideoArt. Submitting to Post-VideoArt is not considered the same thing as submitting to a festival. Some schools such as USC, AFI own rights to their student films
In what formats/players will my film be available on Post Video Art?
Because of the nature of video art/expermental films, RealPlayer™ and Windows MediaPlayer™ are not great for the showcase. We only use Quicktime™ format.
Which formats does Post Video Art accept?
Our preferred video formats is Quicktime movie file (Sorenson Video) at 240x180 resolution. We realize nowadays most artists and filmmakers are working with their PC when they create video. It's already a digital format, why copy again to plastic tapes and convert again and again?
What if I want to take my film off the site? What do I have to do?
Please send your written notice to webmaster@post-videoart.com. We will pull the film off the site within 2 weeks after receiving the written request.
